Today is 4/12. Went back to office to write the weekly report before meeting honey for lunch. We had lunch at the market opposite honey’s home, where I had sliced fish bee hoon and honey had lor mee. After lunch, we made our way to our alma mater, NJC for its Funtasia event. Honey’s good friend, Fiona, is teaching there, so we are supporting her by getting the ticket from her, while we have fun ourselves at the same time. 🙂

We left Funtasia with 3 balloons and lots of fun. Oh yah, the 3 balloons. We were quite serious about winning some prizes home. So, we took a piece of the sticker form, and strived to win as many stickers as possible. At the station above, where we were supposed to throw ping-pong balls into these small circles, we won 14 stickers at one go. We won 2 more at a separate station, where we had to roll a ball up and down card-boards before ending up in the indicated card-board box. Oh, we didn’t manage to get any ball into the box. The station-master just took pity on us and gave us 2 stickers. Haha.. 🙂 Yah, so we were quite smug with our 16 stickers and wanted to exchange for some prizes. At the prize exchange booth, though, they have run out of prizes. So, we asked for the 3 balloons instead with the intent of giving them to Amber.

Then, we went to the botanical garden for a run. And some photos, of course. 😛

After the run, we met up with PeiPei, Mama, GoGo, Amber and MaThandarOo at IMM 三盅俩件 for a simple but warm dinner. Ooh.. while we were trying to get to IMM, as the queue of cars going into IMM car-park was too long, we decided to go to the HDB multi-storey car-park that we had parked previously. But, honey mistook another multi-storey car-park to be that same one and we had a good laugh about it. Huhu..

After dinner, we went to Daiso, trying to look for long balloons, that we can twist into doggies and tiara for Amber. We couldn’t find them there though. We found them another day at another place. If you want to know where, stay tuned.

Honey’s birthday

Today is 4/11! Hehe.. I know today is 4/20, but we have been busy enjoying ourselves that we haven’t really found time to upload these posts till now. But I think that it is still important that we have this space to store our cherished precious moments, so that we can look back at these shared memories when we are old.

Yah, back to the birthday of my sweet honey. I took the day off so that we can spend the whole day together. Honey took leave as well. 🙂 We didn’t arrange beforehand though. 心有灵犀 at its highest level! If that doesn’t impress you, wait till you hear more of our ‘copy-cat’ moments.

In the morning, we met up at around 9:30am and headed to the rider’s cafe for brunch. That’s where I gave honey her birthday present. Along the car-ride there, she has been reading the birthday card that I wrote her. That reminds me! She guessed the present I bought for her! Hmph!

My champion always!

After the satisfying meal, we sneaked into the stable, where the horses are kept. Honey and me had a discussion on why a horizontal bar is sufficient to keep the horses in their cubicles. Honey had a theory that horses can’t prone down or lie down. The next moment, one magnificently black horse showed us how he can lie down, roll around and get up. 🙂 We were glad that horses have survived long enough for us to still be able to see them. So, we decided to go to Great World City to catch “Noah”. Honey felt that there was more than enough space to accept more than 2 animals per species. For me, I felt that the logic of having to kill his grand-daughters doesn’t really make sense since they would have nobody to breed with them anyway. If he is afraid of in-breeding, grand-sons could have given birth to future descendants with his daughter-in-law  anyway. I am afraid I am being a 木头 again, so I shall stop here.

Then, we proceeded to Muhamed Sultan road <http://www.thepatissier.com> to collect honey’s birthday cake, which I have reserved beforehand.

Honey also treated me to this cake called ‘Jade Mirror’, which was extremely yummy!

Then, we went to shop for groceries at the Yuan Ching Sheng Siong to prepare for the dinner at honey’s home. The dinner preparation was fun! We were efficient too. Under the guidance of Big Chef Ge, the table of dishes was born.

IMG_6454

After dinner, we gave the food some time to travel down the intestines before we send the cake down. Before we do that, honey makes her super long list of wishes. Nobody was complaining, of course. To add on to her wishes, I wish honey will be healthy and happy always! ❤

Honey’s birthday eve

Today is 4/10 (It is 10th of April, and not 4th of October. I write dates this way because of working in a US company.) and it is honey’s birthday eve! Honey has EEEAA quarterly meeting though. So, while honey goes to the quarterly meeting, I went home for dinner.

 IMG_6435

Then, at about 9pm, knowing that honey is about to be done with the meeting, I made my way to Rochester Park Starbucks.

IMG_6436

There, honey and the rest of the EEEAA folks were at 2nd level. Once they saw me, they excitedly ask me to reserve 12/26 to 12/29 for Penang trip, which is arranged to coincide with Sim’s wedding. 🙂 Something to look forward to! It will be great fun! While honey they all might still have some formal business to discuss, I can sit back, relax and enjoy all the nice Penang food! Of course, I will share with honey.. :p

IMG_6444

Honey and I walked back to Star Vista, where I have parked my car. There, we come across this cool-looking western sea-food grill restaurant, which we promised each other to come and try one of these days. In the picture above, we were trying to capture the restaurant in the background. If I don’t mention it, I am sure everyone will be too mesmerised by the beauty of honey to notice it.

We went back to honey’s home, where we waited till midnight struck and I wished honey a happy sweet birthday. “Honey, my wish is that on your 88th birthday, I can do the same and bring you all the joy and blessings in this world..”

Today is monday. After work, rushed over to find honey so that we can see Yunan Garden in daylight. Don’t know if it was the beautiful scenery or the sweet warm love between honey and me that allows us to laugh at all silly tiffs afterwards, it was a nice invigorating walk through the lush green grass patches and tall majestic tress.
Photo 7-4-14 18 51 58“自强不息,力求上进“ What encouraging words to us! That is the beauty of chinese language. I feel so thankful to be able to appreciate the beauty of it. And I will also use these words to constantly remind ourselves to strive for improvements. Honey, we jia you!

Then, we went to jurong point to eat teppanyaki. =_= Forgot to take picture!

We managed to order just the right amount tonight. On top of that, honey and I had a good chat, where I understood that being rational at the wrong time can make me a 黄木头!

We capped off the night with a leisure walk to the library and having a good solid 30 minutes of reading, heeding the advice of our ancestors in making ourselves wiser and improving ourselves relentlessly. 🙂

Flowers everywhere 2

06 Sunday Apr 2014

Today, while driving along AYE, and while having lunch at home, saw that flowers are blooming everywhere. Honey and I decided to walk to these 2 places (the round-about overhead bridge that straddles AYE just after Cycle & Carriage towards City direction and Pandan Reservoir) to capture the beautiful images while exercising.

2 reflections of mine in the process of doing that:

1) At the Pandan Reservoir, in front of CWT, where a row of tress full of purple and white flowers greet us with a breath-taking sight, honey and I traversed down the slope towards them. The grass patch is full of pot-holes hidden by the over-grown grass. After a few steps, I almost sprained my leg when it fell into one of the pot-holes. Then, honey taught me to extend out the foot to test the ground in front before putting the whole weight down. Reflection: proceed with caution in life. Don’t chiong ahead too hastily and get injured.

2) While walking back home from the round-about overhead bridge, when we reached the side-walk beside Commonwealth Secondary School, the flowers were dropping down to the ground due to not being able to withstand the force of the wind. We managed to catch a flower each in mid-air. Very happy moment! Reflection: be always ready to grab opportunities when they come. The flower will not float up and drop down again. Yes, there might be other flowers. But it is just not going to be these 2 flowers lying in front me on the table. Reflection: enjoy the glory while possible before being blown off your perch. We really should travel and go see the world while we can.
